We have been called and joined to the body of Christ. It is Gods will that his children fellowship with each other just as much as he has called us to himself and his beloved son. As the scripture says in Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

True discipleship is cultivated over time and through genuine relationships. Just as the one called to disciple must commit themselves fully to the Lord to help form Christ in others, the disciple must also surrender to the Lord, embracing the process of being discipled.
